Who Are We?

WHO ARE WE? We are volunteers who want to rid our county of the eyesore the litter creates on our highways. We know the agencies and people in Caltrans, City of Mill Valley, Strawberry and Marin County responsible for litter cleanup and continued maintenance. We are diligently working with them to resolve this problem.

August 2013 Newsletter

Well, August brings more good news.  We are starting to receive donations from local businesses that line the frontage road.  100% of the funds we receive through MarinLink are going to the cost of clean up and maintenance of the frontage roads on the East and West sides of highway 101 between Seminary and Blithedale/Tiburon exits.

We would like to acknowledge and thank the first of the businesses to donate to Marin Clean Highways:

Goodman Building Supply
In-N-Out

As well, we have started receiving personal donations.  With the donors permission, we will begin a thank you page acknowledging their generous support.

When you are in the business establishments, please take a moment to let them know how much you appreciate their contribution to cleaning up our environment.

Speaking of which - doesn't it look a lot better?  Our trash blaster, John, is doing a great job of cleaning things up.  He mentioned that he picked up 5 huge bags of litter from just one area around the Blithedale on ramp approaching the 101 south.  Included in the rubbish was a newspaper from several years ago!  Unbelievable.

With your help and the help of our local business establishments, we can continue to keep these areas clean of debris and then concentrate on a maintenance and beautification plan.

Here is the info again if you would like to make a tax free donation:

MarinLink (put “Marin Clean Highways” on the memo line)
500 Northgate Mall, Suite 250
San Rafael, CA 94903

We will send you a letter acknowledging receipt of the tax-deductible donation.

If any of you are interested in getting involved in our cause, we are moving ahead in various fronts to tackle litter, area by area. We could use help with: soliciting funds, apply for grants, website and social media development, liaison with local governments to develop anti-litter campaigns, organize volunteer cleanups in your area. And many others. Just contact us at marincleanhighways@gmail.com

Thank you again for your support!

Vicky and Jill
